The Client, Terni Biomassa Srl, appointed W.T.E. to produce a technical advice about the premature failure of the refractory lining installed in the furnace and designed to burn paper pulper residues.
Serious damages on the refractory lining of the combustion chamber were observed after few months of run.
Main characteristics of the boiler: steam flow 20 t/h, pressure 50 bar, steam temperature 450°C.
